Porsche 911 (992) GT3 Touring
Owner Objectives & Scope
The owner requested a transition from factory Carrara White Metallic to an individualized Chalk/Nardo hybrid tint with complete self-healing stealth satin protection.
Surface Defect & Engineering Challenges
Factory finish possessed standard orange peel texture. Disassembly of the 992 aerodynamic rear diffuser and active spoiler required surgical de-trimming without triggering CAN-bus sensor fault codes.
Technical Strategy & Material Selection
Full mechanical strip-down to bare shell components. Digital paint formulation in our mixing lab to dial in a custom pearl-infused grey basecoat, followed by high-solid clear leveling and 200-micron satin TPU wrap.
Disassembly, De-trimming & Planing
120 man-hours of panel alignment, ultrasonic depth mapping, epoxy primer sealing, and 2000-grit wet block sanding across composite front fenders and aluminum doors.
Booth Atomization & Infrared Cure Cycle
4-stage basecoat atomization inside our climate-controlled downdraft booth at 22C and 45% humidity. Post-curing at 65C using infrared lamps followed by 10-day chemical outgassing before custom-tucked PPF installation.
Optical Leveling & Multi-Point Inspection
Micro-beveled edge wrapping on all panel apertures. High-gloss carbon fibre weave accents on mirror caps and rear wing endplates ceramic coated with 9H crystal matrix.
Concours Delivery Condition
A concours-grade, mirror-flat bespoke finish with zero paint edges visible even when doors, bonnet, and engine deck are fully open.
